Department: Pediatric Cardiology
Job Summary:
The Echo Typist will be responsible for transcribing echocardiogram reports for patients in the Pediatric Cardiology department. The Echo Typist will work closely with the Cardiologists and Sonographers to ensure that all echocardiogram reports are accurate, complete, and timely.
Key Responsibilities:
• Transcribe echocardiogram reports accurately and timely.
• Ensure that all echocardiogram reports are complete and follow department protocols.
• Work closely with the Cardiologists and Sonographers to resolve any discrepancies or errors in the echocardiogram reports.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure that all information is kept secure and private.
• Maintain accurate and organized files for all echocardiogram reports.
• Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy related to pediatric cardiology.
• Participate in departmental meetings and continuing education opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
Requirements:
• High school / Bachelor Degree or equivalent required with computer and typing knowledge.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical transcription, with specific experience in pediatric cardiology preferred.
• Excellent typing skills with a minimum typing speed of 60 wpm.
• Proficient in medical terminology and anatomy.
• Proficient in using electronic medical records and other software related to medical transcription.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and patient privacy.
